Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking a SPED Instructional Assistant to support special needs students in regular and self-contained classrooms. Position is 9 months, 6.5 hours/day, immediate start with a pay of $16.99/hour at Copper Canyon Elementary School.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, monitoring behavior, and implementing IEP plans while ensuring student safety and well-being in various school settings. Requires HS diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certificates.

Qualifications

• SKILLS requirements include safety practices, data recording, and clear communication.
• Knowledge of basic math, documentation, and following instructions.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities and materials to support classroom objectives.
• Administer tests and assignments to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile or disabled students with daily care under supervision.
• Monitor behavior and implement IEP plans.
• Ensure student safety and de-escalate conflicts.
