Job summary

Sac and Fox Tribe of Iowa is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized and group instruction, develop IEPs and monitor student progress within a supportive learning environment.

You will collaborate with teachers and administrators, maintain student records, lead IEP meetings, and engage families through conferences while adapting teaching strategies to each student’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
• Stat II endorsement preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, administration and staff.
• Willingness to attend trainings directly related to job responsibilities.
• Must attend Parent/teacher conferences as appropriate.
• Experience in team decision making.

Responsibilities

• Teach students through individualized and group instruction to meet curricular objectives.
• Develop and maintain daily program charts; prepare IEPs for each student.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records for each student.
• Foster a positive climate and motivate students to participate.
• Convene and participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan instruction and accommodations.
• Create and assist with extracurricular activities.
