Job summary

The candidate will design and deliver differentiated instruction, prepare weekly lesson plans, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Arizona Teacher’s Certificate.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Endorsement(s) in the subject area to be taught.
• Must comply with Arizona State law regarding standards for grade level/subject area.
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Strong knowledge of English (reading, writing, grammar).
• Spanish knowledge is desired.
• General knowledge of special education curriculum and instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and staff.
• Energetic, ethical and healthy.

Responsibilities

• Establish a welcoming instructional climate and culture for all students, parents, community, etc.
• Provide differentiated instruction based on individual student needs
• Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with district and state objectives
• Present effective lessons as described in lesson plans
• Develop and implement effective classroom management for safe, productive learning
• Prepare instructional materials in a timely manner
• Instruct students individually or in small groups to master objectives
• Collaborate with special education staff, administration and team members as needed
• Participate in district professional development and meetings
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies
• Attend staff meetings and school functions
