Job summary

Comstock Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Social Worker at Comstock Elementary School for the 2026-27 year. The role focuses on coordinating IEPs, delivering social work services, and supporting restorative practices to improve student outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have a School Social Worker certificate and experience with anti-bias, family engagement, and professional development. Excellent collaboration with teachers and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training in utilizing academic interventions and supporting students who have IEPs.
• Ability to lead, facilitate, and train staff and administrators in best practices.
• Experience working with youth, families, and community organizations.
• Experience developing and facilitating professional development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IEP plans and related services.
• Observe and inform eligibility decisions across classrooms.
• Provide social-work services to students with disabilities.
• Coordinate restorative practices, PBIS and Leader In Me initiatives.
• Contribute to MET reports and IEP team participation.
• Develop measurable social-emotional and behavioral goals.
