Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a dedicated School Social Worker to provide comprehensive services within NSSEO, addressing social and emotional barriers to learning. The role includes counseling, collaboration with families and school staff, and support for IEP planning.

Qualified candidates hold a PEL for School Social Worker, completed NVCI training, and must be able to travel within NSSEO and neighboring districts to support students and families.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) hours of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training required.
• Ability to travel within NSSEO and districts.
• Strong collaboration with parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information from records/interviews to prepare reports and oral summaries.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and others to communicate information and problem-solve.
• Conduct parent interviews and home visits for IEP development and service planning.
• Maintain liaison with community agencies to provide referrals.
• Participate in meetings and facilitate educational team discussions.
• Provide professional development on best practices in school social work.
• Provide individual and/or group counseling as needed during school-wide crises.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance to school staff to improve student outcomes.
