Job summary

Community Counseling Solutions is seeking a Peer Support Specialist in Pendleton, OR (Peer Center). The role emphasizes peer-based counseling, client empowerment, and supporting recovery journeys within a team environment.

Responsibilities include documenting care, reducing stigma, and assisting in group activities while coordinating with clinicians. Requires effective communication, confidentiality, and willingness to travel for client access.

Qualifications

• No minimum education or experience required.
• Attended a peer support conference/training and working toward Oregon peer certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Ability to build positive relationships with CCS staff and community.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on lived experience to encourage client self-determination.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of clinical records and data entry.
• Help clients and families address stigma and increase participation in self-help programs.
• Assist supervisor to organize rehabilitative activities for individuals and groups.
• Participate in clinical meetings to discuss client progress and goals.
• Engage in clinical supervision as requested.
• Provide crisis support with clinicians to resolve the situation or arrange placement.
• Provide transportation to clients when clinically recommended.
