Job summary

Lifepoint Behavioral Health is seeking an Addiction Recovery Specialist to provide person-centered peer support and mentorship within Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital. You will engage individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges, applying trauma-informed care and evidence-based coaching to promote recovery and dignity in care.

Responsibilities include leading groups, collaborating in MDT meetings, supporting discharge planning, and linking patients to local community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of sustained personal recovery from mental health conditions, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder.
• Active CPRS or APRS credential via Arkansas Peer Recovery Program/NAADAC; or PIT with path to 500 hours and exam within 6–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered, one-on-one coaching using evidence-based practices.
• Lead peer-led groups on coping strategies, emotional regulation, resilience, and secondary substance use awareness.
• Attend MDT meetings to present patient perspectives and advocate for self-determination and dignity in care.
• Apply trauma-informed care and active listening to support staff during patient distress.
• Assist patients in building discharge wellness plans and linking to community resources.
• Maintain ethics, confidentiality, and EMR documentation in line with Arkansas Peer Recovery Code.
