Job summary

Jefferson Blount St Clair Mental Health Authority seeks a Peer Specialist to support individuals in mental health recovery within a residential on-site setting. You will conduct one-on-one sessions, facilitate weekly support groups, and help clients build skills and connect to community resources.

The role relies on lived recovery experience to educate peers, serve as a positive role model, and contribute to team planning and documentation with regular supervision and training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must create a recovery plan within 6 months of hire.
• Must attain Certification upon hire.
• Must demonstrate lived experience with Mental illness and be a role model to others pursuing recovery

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one sessions with individual matches and facilitate weekly support groups.
• Initiate dialogue with matches about skills and supports during individual meetings weekly.
• Establish linkages that help clients access community resources.
• Actively facilitate mutual support meetings.
• Complete meeting report forms and sign-in sheets for each meeting.
• Attend monthly one-on-one supervision meetings and bi-weekly team meetings.
