Job summary

St. Louis Arc is seeking a Part-time Parent Educator to empower families and support children within the PLT program. You will deliver home and community services to a caseload of 9-11 families, develop lesson plans, and help coordinate Individual Family Service Plans.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, organization, and collaboration with partners. The program encourages growth, offers benefits such as health insurance and time off, and supports staff through leadership and education

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Child Development or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience working with parents with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or mental health disorders in a social services environment.

Responsibilities

• Empower parents with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to create a healthy family environment.
• Provide home and community services to assigned caseload (9-11 parents and their children).
• Develop and implement lesson and program plans for children of PLT families.
• Assist with development of the Individual Family Service Plan for assigned caseload.
• Coordinate and track medical and dental appointments of PLT children.
• Respond to parenting needs of families enrolled in the PLT program.
• Attend necessary educational meetings regarding school-aged PLT children.
• Maintain assigned clients’ records and reports within guidelines and timelines.
