Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with four years of college credit or a bachelor’s degree preferably in special education, psychology, social work or other human services with three years of experience working with individuals with emotional disabilities or autism.
• Certification as a Behavior Technician, Physical Management Training and/or BCBA recommended or demonstrated ability to obtain required training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher and BCBA in implementation of skill acquisition and behavior-reduction plans for identified students.
• Provide support following the student school calendar with 6.5 hours per day / 185 days per year.
• Create a safe, supportive classroom environment and monitor student progress as directed.
