Qualifications

• Associate degree required from an accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT certification as a COTA required.
• State licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Attention to accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of regulations governing OT practice.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist OTs in planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment programs to improve daily living activities.
• Carry out therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve motor skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and sensory processing.
• Collaborate with OTs to adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Instruct patients and families on exercises and use of adaptive equipment.
• Document patient progress and outcomes accurately per guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment and comply with infection control.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and goals.
• Stay current with best practices through continuing education.
