Job summary

BRISTOL PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a certified Middle School Guidance Counselor at Northeast Middle School (NEMS) to support students in grades 6–8 with their academic, social-emotional, and career development.

The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to promote academic achievement, safe school environments, and a smooth transition to high school, through individual and group counseling, classroom guidance, and data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree required for certain positions.
• Connecticut certification required (Endorsement 068).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, personal, social-emotional, and developmental needs.
• Assist students in developing educational goals, organizational skills, study habits, and effective decision-making strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, and parents/guardians to identify and address student needs.
• Conduct classroom guidance lessons and counseling activities in collaboration with teachers and administration.
