Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 60 credits, or TABE average, plus Credential of Competency for Special Paraeducator in PA.
• One to two years experience with children with special needs preferred.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred.
• Ability to work as part of the educational team and communicate effectively.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist children to and from bus at arrival/departure.
• Provide personal care services as needed for daily living activities.
• Prepare and operate instructional equipment and materials as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with attendance records and confidentiality in data collection.
• Support students using assistive technology and classroom devices.
• Participate in IEP/conferences and supervise students during activities.
• Follow IEPs and behavioral plans under supervision of a certified professional.
• Attend required training (NCI, CPR, First Aid, confidentiality).
• Accompany teacher and students on field trips or community instruction.
