Job summary

Fortis College in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to join the Financial Aid Department. The role is full-time, with some evening and Saturday hours, reporting to the Director of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities include assisting students with the financial aid process, gathering information, presenting initial aid packages, and performing clerical tasks while adhering to policies and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.
• Must not have any NSLDS restrictions.
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service to prospective students and students regarding the financial aid process.
• Assist with gathering information on potential students to ensure a trouble-free student financial aid and processing system.
• Present initial financial aid package to students.
• Perform routine clerical, office, and data entry tasks.
• Adhere to established company and department policies and procedures and maintain excellent customer service standards.
