Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston seeks a Home Visitor to provide outreach and in-home support to first-time parents, promoting maternal/child health, positive parenting, and family self-sufficiency. The role involves education, advocacy, screening, and referral across office and client homes.

You will conduct assessments, develop service plans, facilitate groups, coordinate community resources, and document activities while traveling locally and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with families.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Travel locally to provide home visit services to eligible families.
• Offer group-based services including parenting skills education and support.
• Assess family strengths and needs and document progress.
• Develop bi-annual service plans based on individual family needs.
• Educate parents on prenatal care, infant development, and early literacy.
• Assist families in connecting to medical homes and immunizations.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to meet family goals.
• Complete documentation and attend regular meetings and trainings.
• Drive locally with a reliable vehicle as required.
