Job summary

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston seeks a Healthy Families Home Visitor to provide in-home outreach, parent education and case management for first-time families in the Boston area. The role involves local travel, collaboration with an inter-disciplinary team, and documentation to support child health and development.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of a high school diploma, 1 year experience with families, strong communication skills, and a commitment to culturally diverse communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HiSET required.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships and communicate effectively.
• Comfort with accepting individual differences in families.
• Experience with culturally diverse families and communities preferred.
• Reflective supervision experience preferred.
• Home visiting experience preferred.
• Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
• Massachusetts driver’s license with reliable vehicle required.
• Bilingual ability preferred (English/Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verde Creole, Portuguese, Vietnamese).

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based outreach and parent education to first-time parents.
• Travel locally to offer services and visit families in homes, office, and other locations.
• Conduct group-based parenting education and support activities.
• Assess family strengths/needs and develop bi-annual service plans.
• Promote prenatal care, child development and early literacy.
• Support safety, healthy homes, and positive parenting practices.
• Document client progress and coordinate with partners.
• Attend supervision and team meetings; adhere to program requirements.
• Maintain paperwork and data entry for funders and program.
• Meet travel and scheduling requirements with own vehicle.
