Job summary

Ymca-of-Southwest-Florid is seeking a dedicated Support Staff Person to assist the kindergarten and early learning team. You will help the teacher deliver engaging activities, supervise children, and support their social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development in our Early Learning Centers.

You will also help manage snack routines, hygiene, classroom upkeep, and family communication, contributing to a positive and safe learning environment for all children in the program.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in general office practices.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, child development, and teamwork with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and supervising children.
• Support snack and lunch procedures per class schedule and provide learning experiences.
• Provide individual support to children and maintain safe, healthy learning environments.
• Promote positive guidance, respectful interactions, and parent involvement in the classroom.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining classroom and play areas as directed.
