Job summary

Beattie Elementary School in Fort Collins, CO seeks a paraprofessional to assist Early Childhood students with instruction and personal care for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports mild to significant needs and helps students access the general curriculum with adaptive materials and AAC devices.

Hours are 7.2 hours per day across 186 days, with benefits including health/dental insurance and retirement. Training in CPI, CPR, and safety is provided within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of Level II in the Professional Development Information System (PDIS) of Colorado Shines.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
• PSD Blood Borne Pathogens course completed within 30 days of hire.
• PSD Medication Administration course completed within 30 days of hire.
• Valid Early Childhood medical statement completed within 30 days of hire.
• Current immunizations statement completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in individualizing instruction and adapting materials.
• Support students with personal care, social skills, or self-awareness.
• Maintain student records and classroom paperwork.
• Use behavioral techniques and positive reinforcement to monitor behavior.
• Assist with data collection and progress reporting three times yearly.
