Job summary

Poudre School District is hiring a Paraprofessional for Early Childhood Integrated Services at Laurel Elementary in Fort Collins. The role supports instruction and student care for children with varied needs, assisting the teacher and using AAC devices as needed.

Required associate degree with strong preference for related school experience; benefits include PERA retirement and health options. 186 work days, part-time schedule of 3.75 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum Level II in the Colorado Shines PDIS system.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher by adapting materials and reinforcing learning in small groups.
• Assist students with personal care, social skills, or self‑care; support meals and health needs.
• Collect and document assessment data three times a year; build portfolios and anecdotes.
• Maintain required student records and program paperwork.
• Apply positive behavior supports and monitor student behavior.
• Support students one‑on-one, in small or large groups, and during transitions.
• Communicate daily progress with parents or staff as requested.
• Participate in Integrated Services and professional growth opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
