Job summary

The Arc of Rockland is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Rockland County, NY. You will provide care to individuals with disabilities in residential settings and help with daily activities, transportation, and medical support as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of related experience. A valid driver’s license and necessary certifications are required. A sign-on bonus up to $1000 is available for full-time hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/TASC preferred; 3 years related experience may be accepted.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English with good communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assures safety and well-being of residents at all times.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Transports residents to work, appointments, and activities.
• Assists with meal planning and implements treatment plans.
• Supports therapeutic and behavioral plans with clinical staff.
• Dispenses medications to residents.
• Attends staff and related meetings.
• Facilitates community involvement and recreation participation.
