Job summary

ASG Home Care in Montvale, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping with daily living activities and supporting independence. You will collaborate with our care team to develop and implement personalized plans, monitor progress, and ensure compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working with individuals with IDD preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if applicable).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to clients with IDD, assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and communication.
Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Help clients develop daily routines including meal planning/preparation and medication management.
Encourage participation in community activities and hobbies.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Document client progress and coordinate with families and healthcare teams.
