Job summary

Northwest Care LLC in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide state-certified, 24-hour, person-centered support for adults with IDD. You’ll help with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and transportation, while promoting independence and community involvement. No prior experience?

We’ll train you. Shifts from day to night are available; pay ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, depending on shift.

Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Background checks: Criminal history and driving background clearance required.
Physical ability: Able to lift or transfer up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere that upholds client dignity and respect.
Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Encourage and support clients in achieving personal goals, fostering independence, and participating in their community.
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and household tasks to promote a safe and comfortable living environment.
Oversee medication administration and documentation.
Transport clients to community outings and recreational activities as needed.
Monitor and document changes in clients' physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions and report concerns to supervisors.
Ensure safety, adhere to protocols, and foster independence.
