Job summary

Easterseals Southern California is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide personal care to adults with developmental disabilities in a licensed residential home in California. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and transportation as part of the care team.

Responsibilities include medication assistance, documentation, and participation in IPP/ISP goals. CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications are required, with DSP certifications to be obtained within the first year.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• DSP-I and DSP-II certification must be attained within the first year of hire.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including eating, hygiene, showering, and toileting.
• Assist with meals and dietary restrictions; support G-tube feeding if needed.
• Assist in administration and monitoring of medications.
• Maintain housekeeping and laundering for residents and the home.
• Conduct daily activities to develop living skills and IPP/ISP goals; document/report daily.
