Job summary

YMCA in Keene is seeking a dedicated childcare staff member to support youth development and provide a safe, engaging environment for children and families. You will help deliver established curricula, supervise activities, and uphold the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Expect 18 hours of annual staff training, 1+ year experience preferred, and certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, plus child abuse prevention within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Health form completed within 30 days of hire date.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.
• Helps with implementing curriculum within established guidelines.
• Maintain dependable classroom consistency for the children in care.
• Supervise the children, classroom, and activities at all times.
• Makes ongoing observations and evaluations of each child.
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Keeps required program records.
• Attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).
• Fulfills functions appointed by the YMCA administration.
