Job summary

Keene YMCA is seeking an Associate Teacher to support early childhood programs and implement the established curriculum. Under supervision, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment that aligns with YMCA values and promotes wellness and engagement for children and families.

The role emphasizes dependable classroom presence, planning age-appropriate activities, and maintaining program records. The incumbent will work with the Lead Teacher and participate in family events and staff

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Health form completed within 30 days of hire date.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting.
• Three+ years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.
• Dependable and build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care.
• Implements of curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Assists with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Conducts parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).
• Fulfills any functions appointed by the YMCA administration.
