Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with elementary and middle school students in a school or community-based setting.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work with ethnically diverse populations.
• Demonstrate patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward youth and parents.
• Pass NJ Child Abuse Record information Check (CARI).
• Maintain yearly training as required by NCC or state regulations.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists students individually or in groups with homework assignments.
• Use positive discipline techniques when addressing children.
• Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and promoting positive self-esteem.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by Program Coordinator.
• Attend staff training and meetings as needed.
