Job summary

YWCO is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable After School Program Counselors to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children after school. The role runs Monday–Friday on school days, with about 17–20 hours per week from 2:00–5:30 PM.

Responsibilities include supervising elementary students, leading activities, assisting with homework, and helping with daily program operations while ensuring safety and inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with elementary-aged children during after school hours.
• Assist with daily activities, games, crafts, and enrichment programs.
• Help children with homework when needed.
• Foster a positive, welcoming environment; ensure safety and well-being.
• Encourage positive behavior and model respectful interactions.
• Assist with snack distribution, clean-up, and program organization.
• Follow YWCO policies and procedures; communicate with staff.
