Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is seeking a passionate Middle School Humanities Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned ELA instruction and foster strong literacy, analytical thinking, and writing skills. The role emphasizes data-driven planning and high expectations within a collaborative AMS culture.

Located at 6633 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, this position offers a compensation range aligned to experience and DOE guidance, with opportunities for professional growth and family

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Arizona teaching certification or eligible certification.
• Minimum of three years of K–12 teaching experience.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and data-driven instructional mindset.
• Pass required background checks and obtain IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities.
• Exhibit collaboration and initiative in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction.
• Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, informational text, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking/listening.
• Differentiate instruction to support varied grade-level performance.
• Use formative and summative assessments to plan targeted interventions.
• Prepare students for high school literacy expectations.
