AMS is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (K–8) to join the Nellis Campus in Las Vegas for the 2026–2027 school year. You will deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals, collaborate with staff and families, and ensure services meet IDEA/NDE requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual learner communities.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset.
• Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment.
• Pass required Nevada state background checks and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and Nevada standards.
• Differentiate instruction and monitor progress toward IEP goals using data.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and NDE regulations.
• Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings with families, admins, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation related to student services.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Participate in PLCs and professional development; work with coaches and admins.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and IEP implementation.
