Beacon Group, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond, is hiring an Employment Specialist in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on developing career opportunities for clients with disabilities, with training, placement, and retention support as part of a comprehensive program.
The ideal candidate has a background in social work or related field, with strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: The responsibilities of the Employment Specialist are to develop, implement, monitor and maintain career opportunities for clients including job skills training, career development/placement career retention and advancement services. Case management or knowledge of SMI or GMHSU services preferred. Knowledge of AHCCCS funding, Vocational Rehab services and integrated employment.
