Job summary

Beacon Group seeks a Direct Support Professional / Job Coach in Tucson to support and supervise adults with disabilities. The role is hands-on, with duties that vary by site needs and require compassionate service delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. We are looking for a patient, flexible and dedicated person to work with, train and supervise a fantastic team of adults with disabilities. Daily duties of this position is to provide top of the line services for the individuals on the team while providing quality service to the customers we provide a variety of services for. This is a hands‑on position. The services that Beacon provides to our customers is dependent on the location and site needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum of six months of experience working with adults with disabilities.
• Increased technical skills related to field of work.
• Successfully pass the drug test and background check.
• Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or able to obtain and maintain certification.
• Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card.
• Provide proof of good driving (39-Month uncertified MVR from AZ MVD Now https://azmvdnow.gov)
• Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test.
• Article IX, and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a GSA clearance.
• Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb, and sit.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to write accurate, clear, and informative case notes.
• Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.
• Ability to work, drive and travel independently to various sites.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment.
• Ability to use good judgment.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn and use equipment.
• Ability to use power tools, equipment, and machinery.

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday, full-time. Willing to work different schedule shifts.
