Opportunity Partners, Inc. is seeking an Employment Specialist II to support adults with disabilities in finding community-based employment. You will coordinate services, assess needs, and help individuals grow skills toward independence in Minnesota.

Daily tasks include assisting with job placement, documenting plans, and providing on-site training. The role emphasizes collaboration with the IDT and employers to create meaningful work opportunities and lasting employment for participants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to human services, education, or health.
  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • Diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health.
  • Minimum 50 hours of education and training related to human services, education, or health and four years full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with securing community-based employment according to their preferences and Employment Plan.
  • Assess and document the need for support/training and provide on-site training according to individual preferences and needs.
  • Provides case management to ensure services are initiated, provided, evaluated and communicated effectively to IDT members.
  • Develop and coordinate a support plan that identifies employment strengths for independent employment.
  • Market services to potential employers to obtain referrals for placement and related services.
  • Complete intake and annual paperwork to meet billing requirements.
  • Assist individuals develop and enhance their work skills in real-life situations.
  • Help individuals find meaningful jobs that match their preferences.

Job Summary:

As an Employment Specialist II, you will coordinate and help support our people with disabilities with independent employment in the community. You will help our people with disabilities grow their skills and gain independence to the greatest extent possible.



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

  • Wage: $19.50 - $20.50 based upon years of experience


How will you make a difference?

As part of team, you will help our people with disabilities in the following areas:



  • Assist individuals with securing community-based employment according to their preferences and as agreed in the Employment Plan.

  • Assess and document the need for support/training and providing on-site training according to the individuals preferences and needs.

  • Provides case management so that services are initiated, provided, evaluated and communicated effectively both internally and to IDT members.

  • Develop and coordinate a support plan that identifies the employment strengths to make people with disabilities successful in their independent employment.

  • Markets services to potential employers to assist people with disabilities in obtaining and securing community-based independent employment. Markets services to both external and internal referral sources to obtain referrals for placement and other related services.

  • Complete intake and annual paperwork to meet billing requirements.

  • Assist our people with disabilities develop and enhance their work skills in real life situations

  • Bring meaning to their lives by having a job that they enjoy

  • Grow and develop their social skills

  • Valid Driver’s license

  • A designated coordinator may have a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children.

  • A designated coordinator may have an associate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children.

  • A designated coordinator may have a diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 or older or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children.

  • A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services, education, or health and four years full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children and is under the supervision of staff person who meets the designated coordinator qualifications listed above.
