As an Employment Specialist/Case Manager – Workforce, you’ll combine individualized case management with workforce development and employer engagement. You’ll build trusted relationships with veterans, understand their goals and barriers, connect them to resources, and help them secure and retain meaningful employment.
This role is ideal for a people-focused professional who enjoys both direct client support and building connections in the community.
What You’ll Do
- Manage an assigned caseload of veterans, providing individualized case management and employment support.
- Assess client needs, strengths, goals, and barriers to employment and develop individualized action and employment plans.
- Help veterans identify career goals and provide hands-on support with resumes, applications, interviews, job searches, and employment readiness.
- Connect clients with housing, education, training, transportation, healthcare, and other supportive resources as needed.
- Build relationships with local employers and community partners to create meaningful employment opportunities for veterans.
- Conduct employer outreach, identify job leads, coordinate interviews, and support successful job placement and retention.
- Facilitate employment and life-skills workshops, including resume writing, mock interviews, job retention, and employment barriers.
- Monitor client progress and provide ongoing coaching, advocacy, and support throughout the employment journey.
- Maintain accurate case notes, client records, employment documentation, and required program data.
- Participate in job fairs, community events, team meetings, trainings, and other workforce activities.
- Collaborate with program staff, the Workforce Development Coordinator, VA personnel, employers, and community partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring

- Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment or economic stability.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload while balancing client needs, documentation, and employment goals.
- A proactive approach to employer outreach and community partnership development.
- Strong follow-through, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for helping veterans achieve employment, stability, and independence.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Business, Marketing, Social Services, or related field required; relevant experience may substitute.
- 1+ year of experience in job development, employment services, case management, or related work preferred.
- Experience supporting veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, or those facing employment barriers preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse clients, staff, employers, and community partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and internet research.
- Valid driver’s license required; must meet insurance requirements and complete required driver training.
