Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in job placement and/or vocational counseling
- 2 years supervision experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Possession of a valid Ohio Operator’s Permit
Job Duties
- Collaborate with private and public agencies to identify employment sources.
- Contact employers, solicit jobs, and maintain a directory of area employers.
- Refer residents to prospective employers and monitor their progress.
- Provide pre-employment services such as resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation.
- Verify and assess the suitability of residents’ employment.
- Conduct workshops on employment skills and related topics.
- Assist with vocational programming and maintain employment records.
- Work with the Resident Service Manager to improve job readiness and retention.
- Monitor residents’ employment progress through contact and visits.
- Coordinate with case managers and probation officers regarding residents’ progress.
- Offer individual job counseling and act as liaison with relevant departments.
- Develop and facilitate financial management sessions.
- Research and assist with grant writing.
- Maintain necessary materials and supplies.
- Transport residents as needed.
Additional Information

- Knowledge of counseling, training, community resources, and local job market.
- Skills in communication, program management, and office procedures.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and handle stressful situations.
- Work in a correctional facility environment with moderate noise.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and reaching; ability to recognize substance abuse signs.
- Effective communication skills in person and over the phone.
