  • Work Hours: 80 Hours Bi-Weekly

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in job placement and/or vocational counseling
  • 2 years supervision experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Possession of a valid Ohio Operator’s Permit
Job Duties
  1. Collaborate with private and public agencies to identify employment sources.
  2. Contact employers, solicit jobs, and maintain a directory of area employers.
  3. Refer residents to prospective employers and monitor their progress.
  4. Provide pre-employment services such as resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation.
  5. Verify and assess the suitability of residents’ employment.
  6. Conduct workshops on employment skills and related topics.
  7. Assist with vocational programming and maintain employment records.
  8. Work with the Resident Service Manager to improve job readiness and retention.
  9. Monitor residents’ employment progress through contact and visits.
  10. Coordinate with case managers and probation officers regarding residents’ progress.
  11. Offer individual job counseling and act as liaison with relevant departments.
  12. Develop and facilitate financial management sessions.
  13. Research and assist with grant writing.
  14. Maintain necessary materials and supplies.
  15. Transport residents as needed.

  • Knowledge of counseling, training, community resources, and local job market.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and handle stressful situations.
  • Work in a correctional facility environment with moderate noise.
