Position Details

WF251010 – Employment Programs Specialist – Kanawha

This is an exempt position in the Labor Market unit. Responsibilities include reviewing Occupational Employment and Wages Survey (OEWS) codes, entering data into a database, contacting employers for data clarification, and collecting occupational data via phone from employers who have not responded to surveys. Out-of-state travel for training and development is required. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
  • Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • OR Substitution: Additional experience may substitute for the required training at a rate of one year of experience for every thirty semester hours of training.
  • Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in programmatic assistance, customer service, banking, human resources, telemarketing, sales, or hospitality.
  • OR Substitution: Graduate coursework may substitute at a rate of fifteen semester hours per year of experience.
  • OR Promotional Only: One year as an Employment Programs Associate or two years in the Employer Programs Interviewer series may substitute for the training and experience requirements.

This is an exempt position not covered under the merit system. The salary range is PG: 12, $35,702 - $61,628, with a market rate of $54,918.
