Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent years of experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of full life cycle recruiting with a high workload.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and ATS.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.

Job Description
How will this role impact First Command?

The Employment Specialist is solely responsible for the full life cycle recruiting functions for First Command Financial Services, Inc. and First Command Bank to include: sourcing, attracting, recruiting, interviewing and onboarding. The Employment Manager will champion the talent acquisition process to ensure a steady flow of high-quality candidates to support the First Command mission and business goals and ensure that First Command is hiring the best possible talent.

What will the employee do in this role?
  • Manage the internal and external recruiting process to include collaborating and working with members of the SLT, ELT and Hiring Managers to identify and attract talent, assessing current staffing needs, formulating search strategies, coordinating job postings using a variety of sources, sourcing active and passive candidates, screening and interviewing, assessments/testing, offer negotiations and closing offers.
  • Proactively source, network and market open job opportunities to build a pipeline of qualified candidates by utilizing LinkedIn, social media outlets, ATS systems, networking events, job fairs and employee referrals.
  • Proactively engage with College/University recruiting teams to source for current and future talent needs and coordinates professional job fairs that occur onsite or within the community.
  • Design and implement sourcing strategies that support the execution of the employment brand and drive high volume, targeted and diverse candidate pipelines
  • Manage recruiting agency and contractor relationships to ensure alignment with First Command’s needs/strategies and employment brand. This includes creating and maintaining a contractor tracking process along with onboarding of all contractors at First Command.
  • Responsible for changing recruitment directions and priorities proactively based upon changing business needs.
  • Responsible for positive candidate experience and employment branding.
  • Regular communication with Hiring Managers to discuss candidates and drive the recruitment process.
  • Counsel candidates on First Command benefits, salary and culture.
  • Responsible for conducting credit and criminal background checks on contractors and candidates and managing the flow of information between departments and candidates with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Maintains recruiting data and reporting metrics.
  • Train and lead others as a talent acquisition subject matter expert.
  • Evaluate existing recruitment processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiencies from the application process to the hire.
  • Maintain integrity of the ATS to include statistics for FCB’s AAP as well as other employment and retention statistics.
  • Develops and conducts training programs for managers designed to improve Recruiting efficiencies
  • Develops, coordinates, and conducts the New Hire Onboarding/Orientation to include the New Employee Immersion program.
  • Continued education including attending seminars and reading relevant materials to stay current with employment laws, hiring trends, and other employment/Human Resources related issues.
  • Maintains a membership and actively participates in a Human Resources or Employment related professional organization.
  • Partners with Field Recruiting team to share best practices
Skills & Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required (equivalent years of experience may be considered)
Work Experience
  • 2+ years of full life cycle recruiting experience specifically managing a high requisition workload
  • Proficiency with talent acquisition systems
  • Experience using social media tools, with specific proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and job boards
  • Ability to quickly and effectively develop Boolean searches to optimize key candidate searches
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated results in passive recruitment and sourcing
  • Implement company-wide talent acquisition programs
  • Certifications (preferred)
    • PHR or SPHR certification
    • AIRS certifications
    • LinkedIn Recruiting Certification
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Strong leadership skills that influence teamwork, collaboration and partnership.
  • Ability to communicate, coach, influence and interact effectively with all levels of employees and management (written and verbal)
  • Excellent project management/organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision or direction and initiative to take on new tasks when needed
  • Able to handle confidential material and sensitive situations in a reliable manner
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State employment laws and EEO and OFCCP practices and procedures
  • Must know local labor market trends
  • Outstanding customer service (internal and external)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must be creative and a strategic thinker
