Living Innovations is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals across Northern Maine. You will network with local businesses to create opportunities, match candidates to roles, and provide on-the-job coaching and support to ensure successful transitions.

The role emphasizes advocacy, independent work, and collaboration with families and agency teams, with a focus on measurable progress and community impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with IDD.
• Must pass all comprehensive state and company background checks.
• ACRE Certification and DSP Certification are preferred.

• Community Networking: Reach out to local business owners and managers to discover staffing needs and create job opportunities.
• Individualized Advocacy: Match job seekers with positions that fit their skills and goals.
• On-the-Job Support: Provide short-term job coaching and direct care to help individuals transition and succeed.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in stakeholder meetings and implement employment plans with families and agency teams.
• Progress Tracking: Maintain documentation, weekly WROCs and monthly progress reports.
