Job summary

Jobot, a Chicago-based law firm specializing in representing employers, seeks an experienced employment litigation attorney to join our team. You will handle complex litigation, take ownership of cases, and work with a collaborative group of attorneys.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the Illinois state bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, with 3+ years in employment litigation and experience defending discrimination, wage-hour, and trade secret matters.

Qualifications

• Admitted to the Illinois state bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
• 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
• Defending discrimination claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and similar claims.
• Defending wage and hour and class action claims under FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, and BIPA.
• Defending and/or prosecuting trade secret violations and breaches of confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements.
• Experience with motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and summary judgment in state and federal court.
• Desire to take ownership of assigned cases while working collaboratively with other attorneys.

Required

• Admission to the Illinois state bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
• 3+ years of employment litigation experience, including:
• Defending against discrimination claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and similar common law claims.
• Defending against wage and hour and other class action claims under the FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, and BIPA.
• Defending and/or prosecuting trade secret violations and breaches of confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements.
• Experience with motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and summary judgment in state and federal court.

Preferred

• Admission to the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
• Trial experience (first or second chair) and/or experience presenting witnesses at trials, hearings, arbitrations, or similar proceedings in employment law matters.
• Appellate experience in employment law cases, including briefing and/or oral argument.
