Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate for a well-established Durham, NC law firm. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of litigation experience and will work with partners handling matters for local, regional, national, and international employers in courts, agencies, and arbitration.

Prior employment litigation is preferred but not required; strong background in business or civil litigation will also be considered.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience.
• Strong drafting of pleadings and motions; manage discovery.
• Active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Ability to obtain North Carolina licensure within one year.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in state and federal litigation.
• Handle wage-and-hour disputes under FLSA and local laws.
• Address non-compete and confidentiality matters; trade secrets.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Coordinate discovery with e-discovery vendors and document production.
• Represent clients in EEOC, DOL, OSHA matters, and unemployment hearings.
• Represent clients in arbitration before FINRA, AAA, JAMS, etc.
• Conduct legal research and provide client communications.
