Nisar Law Group, P.C. is seeking an experienced, motivated Employment Litigation Attorney to join our plaintiff-side employment and civil-rights practice on a full-time, hybrid basis.
Our firm represents employees experiencing workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour violations, and other unlawful employment practices. The successful candidate will manage a substantive caseload while providing strategic, compassionate, and results-oriented representation from the initial consultation through final resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage employment matters through consultation, intake, investigation, pre-litigation negotiations, administrative proceedings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial, and settlement.
- Advise clients regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, reasonable accommodations, leave protections, wage-and-hour violations, whistleblower claims, and related workplace issues.
- Conduct prospective-client consultations, evaluate potential claims, and assist with client engagement and case strategy.
- Prepare demand letters, administrative complaints, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, settlement submissions, and other legal filings.
- Represent clients before the EEOC, NYSDHR, NYC Commission on Human Rights, and other administrative agencies.
- Litigate matters in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts, as applicable.
- Conduct and defend depositions, appear at conferences and hearings, participate in mediation and settlement negotiations, and prepare matters for trial.
- Maintain strong, responsive, and professional relationships with clients throughout the representation.
- Proactively manage deadlines, calendars, assignments, and case progression.
- Maintain complete and accurate case records, communications, activities, and time entries in Clio.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff while independently taking ownership of assigned matters.
- Remain reasonably accessible during regular business hours and attend in-person proceedings, depositions, consultations, and firm meetings when required.
Qualifications
- Admission to the New York Bar and good standing required.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar is strongly preferred.
- At least five years of relevant employment-litigation or comparable civil-litigation experience preferred.
- Meaningful experience handling employment-discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful-termination, wage-and-hour, or civil-rights matters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an active caseload independently and move matters efficiently toward resolution.
- Experience practicing before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts.
- Strong legal research, analytical, negotiation, writing, and oral-advocacy skills.
- Deposition, mediation, motion-practice, and trial-preparation experience.
- Trial experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent judgment, organization, deadline management, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to responsive, client-centered representation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Plaintiff-side employment experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $110,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, admissions, and demonstrated ability to manage matters independently.
- Additional performance-based compensation calculated on attorneys' fees recovered, in accordance with the firm's attorney incentive policy.

Work Arrangement
This is a full-time, hybrid position combining remote work with in-person responsibilities as required. In-person attendance may include court appearances, depositions, mediations, client consultations, trials, and firm meetings.
