Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join its team in Biddeford, Maine. The attorney will handle a broad range of employment law matters, from initial evaluation through resolution, with a strong focus on litigation and client-management.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D., an active license to practice law (in SC as stated), and at least 2+ years of employment law experience, with excellent writing and advocacy skills.

• Active license to practice law in SC.
• 2+ years of employment law experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment law matters from inception through resolution
• Represent clients in employment-related litigation and disputes
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Manage discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
• Advise clients regarding employment-related laws, policies, and workplace disputes
• Analyze claims involving wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment matters
• Develop case strategies and communicate recommendations to clients
• Work closely with attorneys and support staff to efficiently manage a caseload
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, practical legal advice
