Responsibilities

  • Defend employers in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation on a broad range of employment-related claims including class and collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and non-compete cases.
  • Advise employers on compliance with Colorado and federal labor and employment laws and regulations; counsel on pay equity and pay transparency obligations.
  • Support government contractors on equal employment opportunity and affirmative action obligations; assist with pre-employment tests validation and adverse impact analyses.
  • Lead or participate in internal investigations, provide counseling and strategy to minimize risk, and collaborate with practice groups and data analysts.

Depending on experience and client needs, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:Duties and Responsibilities:Employment LitigationDefend employers in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation involving a broad range of employment-related claims, including class and collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.Represent employers before federal and state administrative agencies in charges of discrimination, investigations, and enforcement actions, including government contractor compliance reviews.Employment Advice and CounselingAdvise employers on compliance with Colorado and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.Counsel employers on pay equity and pay transparency obligations, including privileged pay equity analyses.Advise government contractors on equal employment opportunity and affirmative action compliance obligations.Support the validation of pre-employment tests and other selection procedures, including adverse impact analyses.Skills and Educational Requirements:JD from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.3+ years of employment law experience in litigation and/or employment law-related advice and counseling; experience in any of the areas above a plus.Active Colorado bar admission required.Understanding of current court and employment-related agency (state and federal) procedures.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.Comfort with large data reports a plus.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects and effectively oversee other professionals.For Colorado, the expected salary range for this position is between $182,500 and $240,000.
