Job summary

Truist is seeking an in-house employment lawyer to support the Legal Department, business leaders, HR partners, and risk stakeholders on employment law issues across the employee lifecycle.

You will manage employment litigation and administrative claims, advise on recruiting, compensation, performance, leave, W&H compliance, covenants, and workplace investigations, and collaborate with outside counsel on case strategy and discovery.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice in good standing
• 5 years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate settings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize matters, manage time, and move between matters fluidly
• Ability to handle a heavy workload and meet critical deadlines
• Team-oriented mentality and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys within the Legal Department and lines of business with limited supervision
• Assess legal risk and provide advice on routine matters
• Analyze legislation regulations and case law affecting the company and banking industry
• Prepare/review routine documents and handle transactions or disputes
• Develop an initial area of specialization to support business lines
• Provide day-to-day guidance to a paralegal and collaborate on active cases or projects
