Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

Legal.io is working with a leading tech company who is seeking an Employment Counsel with for a 6 month contract. This is a fully remote position.

Scope of Work

• Title: Employment Counsel (Secondment)
• Experience: 7+ Years
• Location: Remote (United States - California is a bonus)
• Duration: 6 Months
• Pay Rate: $75 - $95 / hr ($150,000 - $190,000 annualized)

Responsibilities

• Help finalize employment handbook/policies and build out employment templates
• Adverse impact

• Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to employment law.
• Provide legal advice and support on employment-related matters, including hiring, performance management, terminations, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various employment law issues.
• Collaborate with HR and management to address employee relations issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support the company's privacy, compliance, security, and governance initiatives by ensuring employment practices align with industry standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in employment law, preferably with in-house experience at a tech company
• Great writing skills and interpersonal skills are both a must. Must mesh well with the team and be willing to accept guidance.
• JD degree from an accredited law school and Bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations - California knowledge a plus
• Some knowledge of compliance and privacy law a plus
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple priorities effectively.
