Job summary

Partnership Employment partners with an organization near Braintree, MA to hire an Associate Counsel who will work closely with the General Counsel, Human Resources, and outside counsel on employment law matters. Employment law is just your starting point.

You’ll receive hands on mentorship from the General Counsel so you can grow beyond just handling HR matters and slowly take on broader business matters. This is a brand new position on staff, and will be someone who the General Counsel will

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Approximately 2–5 years of relevant employment law experience.
• Practical judgment and the ability to build relationships with non-legal colleagues.
• Interest in learning, receiving feedback, and developing a broader in-house practice.

Responsibilities

• Support responses to MCAD/EEOC matters and coordinate with outside counsel on employment claims.
• Advise on HR and employment matters, with increasing ownership of termination, severance, and compliance issues.
• Draft and review employment agreements, severance agreements, and releases.
• Develop experience reviewing and negotiating vendor and service contracts.
• Help manage contract workflows and support legal needs across operational and corporate teams.
