Job summary

Advanced Employment Group in California seeks an Employment Specialist/Job Coach to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in securing and maintaining employment with local businesses. You will train, coach, design accommodations, and support both employee and employer for successful performance and growth.

The role requires strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills, with travel statewide using a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field
Special Education degree or experience beneficial
Spanish speaking preferred
Experience with adults with disabilities preferred
Valid Driver's License required
Travel statewide with personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
Proficient with MS Office and collaboration tools

Responsibilities

Provides person-centered support to meet employee needs within the work environment
Develops plans to achieve personal and employment goals
Facilitates social interactions between participants and other employees
Models productive behavior and encourages independence
Develops constructive relationships with coworkers
Supports positive outcomes by building rapport with employees and employers
Coordinates interview prep and work-related problem-solving approaches
Communicates effectively with AEG staff, employers, and employees
Uses various communication methods including meetings, surveys, and virtual platforms
Identifies environmental modifications and assistive technologies
