Job summary

Advanced Employment Group in Fortuna, CA is seeking an Employment Specialist/Job Coach to assist adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in obtaining and sustaining competitive employment with local businesses.

The role includes job training, coaching, accommodations development, and providing support to both employee and employer to ensure tasks are performed accurately, independently and safely at the work site.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Special Education degree or experience beneficial.
Experience working with young adults with IDD preferred.
Valid Driver’s License required during employment.
Travel statewide with use of personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement).
Strong verbal and communication skills.
Must have a home computer/tablet, smartphone and reliable internet.
Advocacy, counseling, and job coaching skills.

Prepares candidates for interviews and develops work-related problem-solving approaches.
Communicates effectively with AEG staff, employers, and employees.
