This role focuses on both employment counseling and litigation, advising employers on compliance and risk management while handling complex disputes in state and federal courts.

The candidate will draft policies, negotiate agreements, and guide clients through delicate employment matters with strong writing and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted and in good standing in New York.
• 5–7 years of employment law experience.
• Experience counseling clients on federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on employment law matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour compliance, and AI-related issues in the workplace.
• Draft and update employee handbooks and employment policies.
• Represent employers in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Handle harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour claims, breach of contract, and other disputes.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, agency responses, and position statements.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions.
• Conduct witness interviews and fact investigations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, restrictive covenants, severance agreements, and other employment-related agreements.
