Job summary

Confidential Employer in Southern California is seeking an experienced employment litigator to manage CA wage/hour and related matters. You will handle disputes from evaluation through resolution, defend employers, and take ownership of complex class action and PAGA matters.

Ideal candidates have CA Bar admission, roughly 3+ years of employment litigation experience, strong writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to independently manage deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar admission.
  • Approximately 3+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Meaningful California employment litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage matters, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Wage and hour litigation experience highly preferred.
  • Class action and PAGA experience is a strong plus.
  • Law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage California employment litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
  • Defend employers in wage and hour, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and related workplace claims.
  • Handle class action and PAGA matters as experience allows.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, position statements, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, hearings, and other key case events.
  • Develop litigation strategies and provide practical, business-focused guidance to employer clients.
  • Independently manage case deadlines, discovery obligations, and day-to-day litigation responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on sophisticated employment matters.

$140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Location:

Note:

Candidates must be admitted to the California Bar and should bring meaningful California employment litigation experience, strong legal writing and analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage cases and deadlines. Approximately 3+ years of experience is ideal, with wage and hour, class action, and PAGA experience especially valuable.

  • Required Years as Associate: 5+ years targeted; strong candidates with 3+ years may be considered.
  • Salary Bands (Only if attorney role): [3 to 5 years: $140,000 to $170,000; 5 to 7 years: $150,000 to $180,000].
