Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• 10+ years of management-side employment litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment law.
• Experience with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and managing written discovery.
• Deposition experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Strong client communication and case management skills.
• Ability to develop practical litigation strategies balancing legal risk and business considerations.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in state and federal employment litigation.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, and related workplace disputes.
• Manage cases from initial evaluation through discovery, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other substantive legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide clients with ongoing case assessments.
• Represent clients at mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements and evaluate potential exposure.
• Advise employers regarding litigation risk and employment-related compliance issues.
• Work directly with HR professionals, executives, in-house counsel, and other client stakeholders.
